Want to eat pork? Want to cook it yourself? This is how you can do it.
Ingredients
# 600g belly pork, cut into thick strips
# 4–5 tbsp oil
# 40g tamarind pulp, mixed with 300ml water and squeezed to obtain tamarind juice
# 4 green chillies, slit to remove seeds
# 50g sugar or to taste
# 1 tsp dark soy sauce
# 1 tsp salt or to taste
# 1 tsp pepper
Ground ingredients (Combined)
# 6 shallots
# 2 cloves garlic
# 2 tbsp coriander powder
# 2 tbsp preserved soy bean paste
Method
Heat oil in a wok and sauté ground ingredients until fragrant. Add pork and fry until pieces are well coated with spices. Add dark soy sauce, sugar, salt, pepper and tamarind juice and chillies. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until pork is tender. When cooking, add a little more water if gravy is too thick.

hmmmm.. kat malaysia, kalau cakap pasal ‘pork’ memang diakui agak sensitif lah sampaikan kita lupa mengenai kewujudan satu lagi ‘golongan pemakan’ yang dikenali sebagai vegetarian..
aku ada kawan vegetarian sorang.. kesian jugak dengar kisah dia yang mana ‘diet’ dia kurang difahami oleh orang lain.
sememangnya hati kita terguris apabila org lain mempermain2 kan apa yg kita boleh makan dan tidak. tapi secara tak langsung, aku makin alert lah ttg apa yg dia boleh mkn. kalau kitrg buat jamuan ke apa.. kitorg sediakan asing food vege utk dia. supaya dia boleh sama2 enjoy berhari raya ngan kita..

cakap pasal pork, saya teringat pasal kawan saya di sekolah lama, penah makan pork. sape yang tawarkan benda tu? mamat india kristian, ade plak mamat tu kata tu ayam panggang. ape lagi kawan saya yang melayu ni, bantai je la. jahat tul mamat india tu..padahal die tahu tu pork dan muslim haram makan benda tuh..

yes, i’m agree with the discussion but let me add a little bit about why pork is haram. i have once attended to a seminar where there is one speaker who talk about this. by the way, have u ever heard that our dna with pig’s DNA is more than 90% same? that’s why most of the medicine use to treat human also taken from pig and some part of their organ also compatible to be use by the human. so, from here, maybe many people will questioned why islam prohibit pork? the answer is because of the similarity itself. since our dna is almost the same as the pig, (and the pig store a lot of dangerous disease,) so it is very easy for the disease or the microorganism to transmit to our body and will infect our body! that’s why it is prohibited in islam.
