But maxis is following as well. Not sure which is better. I heard less complaint from Maxis subscriber..

Celcom coverage definitely better. Though I’m in KL, I live in a kampung area, really kampung to the extend sometimes got monkeys behind my house, chickens, river that human can swim, pendek kata mmg kampung lah, Kampung Sg Salak to be exact, on the way to Bentong. To my surprise, covered by Celcom 3G.

I have no complain with my Celcom so far, even if I do, they have excellent customer support service that ready to serve.

believe me… maxis suck!!… abang am pakai yang 384kbps maxis, mcm haram… connection slow… kalau pakai firefox 1 page jer bole surf satu2 masa… yang celcom tak pasti…

tapi aku mmg tunggu maxis! kwn aku yg kerja kt ericson utk 3G equipment mmg maxis lammbat bertindak tp equipment yg digunakan mahal2 berbanding celcom equipment dr china.

just got huawei datacard e600, got it for RM 485.00 registered for celcom broadband (rm68). works great with 3g but when im at my wife’s place in kotabharu with gprs coverage the sucker wont switch! im ok going slow but not to get connected? that sucked! call the service centre..twice! they told me to tinker with the settings.. that sucked too… so i called Celcom KB… they told me the system is down but shes not sure, so she told me that it could be because it is congested because of balik kampung… she told me to wait till all the balik kampung people balik kerja than the connection shouldbe ok… thats good, but what the hell am im going to do for a week till raya is over!!??..

u all ckp tentang yg iklan kat tv tuh ke? celcom broadband or maxis broadband??3.6mbps??is it?

i’m currently using celcom broadband after struggle 2 choose between maxis or celcom.this is some info to share.1)the plan :
advantage of celcom….not ristricted by contract(12month/18 month).u pay,u get connected.once u decide not to subscribe,easy. just stop payment on next month.maxis plan required 18 months contract.
2)connectivity:
celcom 3g/gprs widest coverage around malaysia compare 2 maxis (even i’m maxis user telco)
3)hardware/modem:
i’m using hsdpa usb modem and fantastic.plug in and conected but price costly.i’m purchase RM 999.but this is more for personal/traveller and business addict.all u need is ur laptop with and only that usb modem.but there are cheaper choice using pci card price from rm450-600 and this cant plug in any desktop.but if u want 2 share network using broadband go for maxis.

3g phone connectivity:
u must really hv a enough knowledge which gadget are rechargeable while plug to pc/laptop.most nokia and sony ericssson not rechargeable.and while connecting on the net and got incoming cal? networking terminate.most convinient are pda/smart mobile in the market.keep update.

u must think wht purpose while u r online then u can make decision.

I’m using celcom broadband at lahad datu now n i can tell u guys that this is the most suck broadband i ever used. please, if u think to switch to celcom n wasting your money, please to do so, but i suggest to all you guys to wait a few month until celcom really upgrade their system, for now on streamx more convienience and reliable. don’t buy the broadband modem now because the price will fall sooner.

p/s….. maybe in west malaysia the system much better.. we not sure. right…

wei…kalo korang nk tau…celcom broadband u have to buy the modem…kalo maxis just rental..cb korang pikir..kalo rosak camne?kalo celcom u have to rapair by ur own,ur money outt lagi..kalo maxis just go any center(moastly klcc la),tukar yg baru..kan sng…in terms of coverage lak..yg kate suck tuh coz dyorg serve bkn dlm 3G or hsdpa areas..tu pasal line truk..aku dah cb..rate2 pi..ok la..kalo slow pon down gprs but still can serve…kn sabar la…kasyah,both have pro and cons…so it up to u…i was sign up wif maxis..so far ok on my area…i also dealer for maxis broadband..i know better about the products…satu lg…in terms of address…sblm tu kn check in systems either u area covered by 3G or hsdpa..customer tau nk yg the best also me as dealers..so think about it…which one suits on u…

aku mula2 nak ambik celcom usb portable..tup2 bila cal center dia cakap usb portable 3.6mb monthly rm 120 diorang x buat pula buat masa ni..lupa lak nak tanya kenapa…bila aku tanya pasal monthly rm68 kena tukar no kena line, prepaid x bleh pula..

so, aku ambik maxis 3.2 mb usb ni..sbb speed dia serta pelaburan untuk jangka panjang…lgpun area tmpt aku ada coverage 3g so boleh leh tu..sbbnya aku gi center dia terangkan kena cek samada area kita ada coverage atau tidak…lps tu baru pilih pelan yang sesuai..klu x ada no need to take lah…

pasal pakej maxis tu yang penting kena tgok area tmpt tinggal bg pakej basic gan advance…aku tinggal jalan pandan perdana 2/3…bila search kat web maxis coverage kat jalan pandan perdana 2/3 x ada..yg ada 2/4, 2/14 & dll..so maxis promoter nasihatkan aku jgn ambik pakej basic atau advance tu sbb x sesuai dan coverage internet x ada…ataupun dia kelentong aku…

kasyah… have u bought any?…i’m also staying at sungai buloh (kundang)…still searching for the suitable internet service provider…i think i just wanna use streamyx coz in my opinion streamyx is more stable but then i already asked about the fixed line from TM …but until now still they don’t provide it…i’ve beeb asking for almost 4 years….i don’t know what else to do…could u help me?

It’s mainly in Klang Valley now but they wil be expanding soon, according to them la. I’ve tried it during one of their road show.. not bad tapi it’s still quite new compared to Celcom & Maxis.

kaSyah guna pc, buat pe nak fenin2 kepala fikir pasal wireless broadband? pc mana boleh mobile? streamyx kan elok tu.. 1.0mbps compared tu 368kbps

i baru terminate maxis power package 3.6mbps after dua hari activation. Sebab i terminate coz hanya dapat 100kbps. mana tak sakit hati… kena bayar pula RM 98. I call CS Maxis and they inform that the speed on their best effort ad i told them my foot. I minta diaorang downgrade package i dari 3.6(RM98) to 384kbps(RM68) and dia nak charge RM 20 for that. I maki diorang habis2 and terminate it. Dia orang betui2 cekik darah berbanding celcom. i baru register celcom tp belum activate lg. kita tunggu dan lihat.

kaSyah, kalau nak connect to wireless broadband, better guna 3G datacard or usb modem (macam dlm iklan tu). Kalau you guna 3G handphone, the respond will be slower.

talked to a Celcom Cust Serv officer regarding Celcom broadband.. now there’s 2 packages aje - RM68/pm and RM128/pm (can’t remember the price of 2nd package). And the modem/datacard will cost somewhere btwn RM200 - RM1000 depending on type etc etc. Apparently, modem for laptop is more expensive than for desktop.

Well, anyway, the officer suggested that if i want or can get cheaper ones outside, beli sendiri the datacard/modem. Then baru subscribe the package and pay for the connection aje. So my question is… can anyone suggest a good usb modem / datacard - officer tu kata Celcom jual vodafone and huawei brand.

i really have bad experience with maxis broadband. all the while ni, i was a loyal customer to maxis. tak pernah complaint,or anything.

I’ve been using maxis 3g. for the past 2 weeks i have been problem with maxis nye line. i susah nak connect. when i called, they told me maxis is upgrading. by next week, line would be much better. but then, i am approaching end of 2 weeks already, and the line were really teruk. so i went and complaint to maxis. i cakap i pay for nothing rm68. but i couldnt get the line. and when i want to cancell and going for celcom, i cant. sbbnya they told me when i signed up for maxis broadband, i am bonded for 2 years agreement, if i were to make early termination, then i have to pay for the rest of the months that i havent used up lagi. then they told me they will investigate why i cant get the line, and would inform me.

Finally, the technical ppl called me, and surprisingly the reason been told is because i live in an apt more than 5th floor. i stay in 13th floor. dia kata maxis broaband cant cater 5th floor ke atas. tehn i asked, why now ?i have been living there for the past 1 year, and havent had any problem. only for the past 2 weeks i really have problem in getting the line. why now ?they said they dont know but the truth is maxis really cant cater 5th floor ke atas. and they advised me to cancell the account.

then i said, i did call and tanya but they told me i got penalty for early agreement. then the technical ppl told me for some cases like my case, i can get exemption.

and today, i am going to cancell my maxis broandband and going for celcom. if you stay in landed hse, i think there wont be much problem. but if you stay in an apt, then you better think hard before going for maxis.

my 2 cents. somehow, maxis really dissapoint me. they should do something bout this. or else, they will lose their customer slowly.

hmmm…im working for the maxis broadband customer service for the past 3 month. And guess what? im certaintly agree with Maza.i feel sorry for him. Yela, as a frontline man,dealing with customer everyday on the phone being the hardest position as you are the middle man between customer and the technical dept. bile cust complaint,kite try utk troubleshoot, bile dah x boleh nk settle,i have to transfer the call to technical dept. Im an internet user too, so, i fhm ape yg u rase maza. Ape yg i x puas hati, cust subscribe for 3.6mbps, tapi bile checkspeed bole dpt 200kbps sometime even lower than that. For me, that is truly ridiculous. at least dpt 1.5-2mbps ok la. Kalau camtu baik subscribe dial up connection je. 200kbps dgn 3.6 mbps jauh beza tu…i sendiri pun pening nk settle case customer,,sbb i bkn ade authority utk cancel account customer kalau dah exceed trial period. lagi satu, maxis prohibit its cust to download?? itu perkara yg paling pelik i penah dgr. Whats the point having internet and u cant even download?pastu for unlimited package, sbnrnye adelah limited package. Customer x bole download lebih dari 3gb permonth. Maxis memang putar belit. you all must be surprise to read this kind of comment from the maxis broadband customer service himself. I ni dahla jenis kesian kat customer. bile dah jadi camni, serba salah jadinye. Xpela, just wait and see..sampai bile maxis bole tahan kalau still macam nie…

nasihat saya,jika anda baru hendak subscribe Celcom Broadband,fikir 2x.Saya telah melalui pengalaman yg paling buruk menggunakan Celcom Broadband selama 1 bulan.Belum ada 1 hari lagi yg servisnya benar2 puas hati.10 minit speed dia bagus…tup..2 jam speed hancus…pastu ok balik.Bila call careline ada 1000 alasan diberikan.
4 me,saya betul2 menyesal gunakan Celcom Broadband.

maza,anda akan mengalami nasib yg sama seperti apa yg anda dapat dr Maxis jika anda tukar ke Celcom.Ini berdasarkan pengalaman saya sendiri.

actually I already subscribed for Celcom broadband. So far no problem with the coverage (in Muar) because have 3G.
B4 I make decision to choose either maxis or celcom, i just think about the contract. with celcom u can terminate the service anytime, but with maxis u will bonded for 2 years.

Nie saye nak kongsi bersama..saye mggunakan Celcom rm98/bulan, modem dah laa rm1099 AT&T bleh support sehingga 7.+mb!!
Masalahnye saye bkn duduk corok kampung, nie shah alam seksyen 28 je..tulis HSDPA..3.6MB, tapi bukak web, youtube..sangkut2 mcm hampeh!!!…sakit je ati..hurmm..

Teruknye lah Malaysia nie..tp bile ade org luar nak buat bissness kt sini, xbagi..takut plak tamat riwayat celcom, maxis, tmnet, jaring nie kang..dah tue..buat ler bebetul skit..

RM408 untuk setiap satu sem …

Manakalah kalau aku choose Jaring Wireless yang memang tempat belajar aku provide, aku kena bayar RM15 X 6 Months = RM90

RM90 untuk setiap semester ..

Tapi, nak LECEH sikit la.. pusat wireless hanya kat kolej, dan sesetengah tempat kat campus. Adeh… takkan nak pasang streamyx kat rumah sewa aku nanti… tak berbaloi sebab aku duduk kat rumah sewa tu nanti pun setahun setengah je nanti.. PLUS cuti 2 bulan, 3bulan atau sebulan, tak ke rugi.. kan kan kan.. PLUS kalau pakai streamyx nak kena ada line tepon.. aiyak.. lagi la leceh kan.. buatnya kalau housemate bergayut.. takkan nak tanggung kot.. pastu plak majoriti nak nama kita digunakan sebagai pemilik account stimix tu nanti.. tak ke mati nanti… adoi la..

ntah la.. aku dalam dilema.

rasanye langkah pertama yg terbaik skali ialah CHECK DULU COVERAGE N SIGNAL STRENGTH KAT AREA YANG KITA NAK GUNA SELALU.dload free hp software kat http://www.myceloteh.com untuk check signal strength n coverage 3G.celcom ngan maxis ade pro dan kontra nye.setiap orang ade keperluan yg berbeza.

cam aku,guna celcom bb dah dekat 6 bulan.kat uia gomabk.so far xde la nak sumpah seranah celcom tu.takde activation fee.takde contract sampai 18 bulan.n paling penting,takde limit 3Gb dload untuk sebulan cam maxis tu.data rate aku sangat bagus.dapat max 384kbps since aku pakai rm68/month.

cuma celcom nye modem mahal ya amat.last2 dapat gak beli yang murah kat encik ghufran kat http://www.3gcard.myceloteh.com tu.celcom jual sampai rm1k lebih.tapi dia bagi rm850 je.pada aku berbaloi beli sebab bleh guna untuk simcard maxis ngan digi gak,bukan celcom je.aku nye bleh support 3G,hsdpa,edge ngan gprs.

actually celcom bb also has the limited download up to 5 gb per month. still better than maxis bb. read in their website.

Haha.. aku pengguna awal maxis broadband kat UIA. janganla subscribe kat situ. agpun, as a student, aku cadang jgn tertipu dengan RM68 dpt sume modem and servis unlimited dia. Tu sume mainan mereka jek. Aku dah terkena and skang tgh menyesal dan takle wat ape2.. Kenape?

1 - Dia pakai contract satu tahun setengah dan takle nak terminate.
2 - Bkan bayar RM68 tapi lebih, ada hidden charge
3 - Di UIA, tak sesuai guna sebab ada tempat tinggi, ada tempat rendah… mende ni takle tempat2 tinggi..
4 - Aku hanya leh dpt pada kebiasaan dlm 60-80kbps aje. Ini kerana, speed telah di bahagi kepada ratusan pelajar lain. Menjadikan kita share broadband speed.
5 - Setiap 2-3 minit, mesti DC secara auto dan kita kene connect manually semula
6 - Slalu dpt signal gprs and edge. dapat 3G lak tak stable.
7 - Dia block torrent and block sume p2p, sebagai salah satu cara nak preserve speed dorang. Ini sesuatu yg takle diterima akal
8 - Bila kita idle selama lebey kurang 20 minit (kalau tak putus la connection).. secara auto, line kita akan diputuskan utk beri laluan pada pengguna lain
9 - Bila kita ada masalah jek call centre dia, payah nak dapat. Aku call aritu sampai 21 kali tak angkat2.
10 - Modem dia dan sim card dia locked antara satu sama lain, so takle nak transfer sim kad utk guna dalam phone 3G kita utk download ape2 or bawah gi jalan mana2.

Kalau anda di UIA, gunalah celcom, kira ok dari maxis.. jangan amek maxis. nanti ko rasa kerugiannya..

shi - semua 3G adalah broadband, tapi tak semua broadband adalah 3G. 3G tu kira cam family name untuk macam2 transmission standard kat dunia ni, contohnya UMTS, HSDPA, HSUPA, EVDO, WCDMA. broadband tu plak kira cam commercial name untuk tunjukkan bandwidth yang besar n luas. maksud jalur lebar tu ialah spectrum bandwidth yang lebar, so bila surf internet tu rasa cam drive sorang2 kat atas hiway (kononnye la..)..the next 4G technology pun kira broadband gak. tapi 2G ngan 1G bukan broadband tau..

so far aku dah test seme line better pakai streamyx lah murah dan senang hehehehhe….

haah.. betul tu. purpose maxis n celcom ni hanyalah sebagai alternatives kepada streamyx in case streamyx down especially kat high density area. of course streamyx is better since it is fixed broadband, not wireless. so kalau takat nak guna kat rumah n tak selalu travel, elok le pakai streamyx. kalau nak lagi murah streamyx tu, register la atas nama adik ke, anak ke.. student price.
